Lim Yen is a Singapore-based storyteller with more than 7 years of experience in editing long and short-form fiction, commercial, branded content, music videos, reality tv and more. In August 2023, she was selected amongst 50 other filmmakers to partake in a 10-day Creators Lab in Yucatan, Mexico, guided by Thai filmmaker Apichatpong, under Playlab Films, wherein she immersed herself in the culture and was open to the concept of "how not to make a film", whilst also making a short film in the process. Similarly in her work, she practises that constantly, of always finding new and alternative ways of telling stories and not conforming to conventions, of always being open to exploring the endless capabilities in moving images.
Her proudest works include HBO Asia's anthology series Invisible Stories, HBO food docu series Food Affair with Mark Wiens, #SGGreenPlan commercial for MSE Singapore, a yet to be released cyber-crime drama by Akanga Film Asia for CJ Entertainment titled Deep End. She will be editing her first feature film come end-2023.
